The ECOS conferences have a long tradition in fostering the key aspects and the scientific knowledge that are essential to take into account the evolution of all the aspects of energy and their impacts.

The representation of the group was done by the integrated member, Professor Senhorinha Teixeira and the Post-doc researcher Ana Cristina Ferreira, with two publications:

– Ferreira, A. C., Nunes, M. L., Teixeira, J. C., Martins, L. B., & Teixeira, S. F. C. F. (2015). Thermodynamic and Economic Optimization of a Solar-powered Stirling engine for Micro- Cogeneration Purposes. In Proceedings of ECOS 2015 – 28th International Conference on Efficiency, Cost, Optimization, Simulation and Environmental Impact of EnergySystems (p. 13 pgs.). 29th June – 3rd July, Pau, France: ECOS.

– Ferreira, A. C., Silva, R. G., Silva, Â. M., & Teixeira, S. F. (2015). Application of Genetic Algorithms in the Optimization of a Thermal System based on Micro-CHP Gas Turbines. In Proceedings of ECOS 2015 – 28th International Conference on Efficiency, Cost, Optimization, Simulation and Environmental Impact of Energy Systems (p. 12 pgs.). 29th June – 3rd July, Pau, France: ECOS.

The participation in this conference also aimed to formally present the application to organize the ECOS Conference in 2018 at the University of Minho. The application was presented to the ECOS Scientific Committee by Professor Senhorinha Teixeira (DPS) and Professor José Carlos Teixeira (DEM) and it was successful.
